It was reported that Iraqi documents captured by US forces in 2003 say Russian intelligence had sources inside the American military that enabled it to feed information about U.S. troop movements and battle plans to Saddam Hussein. Russia quickly denied that it provided information on US troops movements and plans to Baghdad during the 2003 invasion.

In Selmer, Tenn., Mary Winkler was charged with shooting to death her minister husband, Matthew Winkler, in the parsonage of their church.  In 2007 Mary Winkler was convicted of voluntary manslaughter.
