The US Justice Department's Office of the Inspector General released an unclassified summary of its investigation into the March, 2002, termination of Sibel Edmonds. She had discovered and reported several problems inside the FBI, including shoddy translation work, a large backlog of untranslated documents and employees with questionable alliances. The report concluded that Edmonds was fired for reporting serious security breaches and misconduct in the agency's translation program, and that many of her allegations were supported.
