The 2-day summit in Hammanskraal was the 7th meeting of center-left leaders since the Progressive Governance Network was created in 1999 by Blair and former US president Bill Clinton. Also attending were South Africa President Thabo Mbeki, South Korean PM Lee Hae-Chan, Ethiopian PM Meles Zenawi, Swedish PM Goeran Persson and New Zealand PM Helen Clark.
