The United States presented hundreds of armored vehicles and trucks and thou-sands of weapons to the Afghan army as Afghanistan braces for renewed fighting with Taliban-led insurgents. In southern Afghanistan Taliban militants overran Musa Qala, where a conten-tious peace agreement was negotiated last fall, roaming through the town center, burning its government compound and threatening elders. In eastern Paktika province coalition aircraft dropped two bombs, killing as many as seven militants.
